CLUB REGISTRATION FOR HISTORIC, LEFT HAND DRIVE AND STREET ROD VEHICLES.
The Range Rover Club has applied for and been granted accreditation to administer, via its Authorised Officers, Ron Westren, John Harrland and Garry Cooper, the Club Registration Scheme on behalf of the Registrar of Motor Vehicles in South Australia.
This is a new opportunity for the Range Rover Club to assist its members to get greatly reduced registration and Insurance costs for any vehicle a member may own that has a manufacturing date greater than 25 years old on the 1 st January each year. The 3 authorised officers can and will help any member through the Club Registration process but you must be a Financial Member of the Range Rover Club to be eligible and remain a financial member for the period of your club registration. There is a $10 fee for each vehicle per year paid to the Range Rover Club to administer and maintain the records required. A small cost for such a beneficial scheme.
Your Vehicle
It must be at least 25 years old as above and must be roadworthy and legally able to be driven on public roads to obtain your registration. Modifications are allowed provided they comply with the Road Traffic Regulations. The onus is on the registered owner to comply with these regulations. The vehicle must remain roadworthywhen driven on the public roads. We do not need to view your vehicle. It can be any make of motor vehicle or motor bike.
The Process
An Authorised Officer can issue you with a Form (MR334) containing the Club Stamp which, together with your normal Registration form, (MR1) you can the take to any Service SA Customer Service Centre for the Application to be processed. Once registered, the Authorised Officer can then issue a log Book particular to your vehicle. It can be issued for up to 3 years. A $5 fee applies for each Log Book which is paid to the Federation of Historic Motoring Clubs who supply the Log Books.
Your Responsibilities
Registration and roadworthy condition of the Vehicle is the responsibility of the owner. The Log Book must be filled out prior to each and every trip and must be carried in the vehicle when driven on the road. You can use the vehicle for up to 90 days each year and you can travel interstate if you wish. There is no limit on the number of consecutive days you can drive your vehicle. Financial Membership of the Range Rover Club is mandatory for your Club Registration to be valid.
The Club’s Responsibilities
To issue the Club Registration Form (MR334) to the owner, to issue a Log Book for each vehicle once the registration process is completed and to keep records of all Log Books and MR334 forms. To report annually to the Federation of the status of all log books and to inform the Registrar of Motor Vehicles of any unfinancial Club Registration members.
This is a brilliant Scheme which delivers great benefits to all members who own an Historic or similar vehicle. It is one of the better schemes throughout Australia and a great addition to the services the Range Rover Club can offer its members.
